Newton Court

Newton Court is a wonderful place to meet for drinks, home-made cakes, light lunches and hot meals. Herefordshire produce is incorporated into the menu, including Newton Court Cider’s delicious perry, cider and apple juice. The kitchen team work with local butchers, bakers and farmers to source low food-mile, tasty produce. Sitting within the restaurant and café you have a choice of views: over to the opposite hillside; an organic orchard, with both venerable and newly-planted cider apple and perry pear trees; through the internal windows to the cider packaging area.

Under the guidance of Andy Link and his team, everything is crafted fresh on-site in our restaurant, from our stone-ground spelt bread to our hay and meadowsweet ice creams and lavender fudge.
Sustainability and ethical sourcing are fundamental values at our restaurant. We increasingly grow and forage our own produce and strive to minimise food miles in our sourcing practices. Our kitchen garden, heritage orchard, smallholding, and the abundant wild herbs of the Lugg Valley supplement ingredients sourced from Herefordshire, Shropshire, and the Welsh border.
The Oak at Wigmore

We were delighted when Ian Pugh joined us in September 2019, taking up the helm in our kitchen. Ian grew up in Ludlow and started work as a pot washer for Mr. Underhills at the age of 15. He spent the next ten years working his way up the ranks, running the kitchen for eight years, to Michelin star standard. The man can cook!
